    Common Questions About Vehicle Options

A stretcher van is for patients who must lie down but don't need medical monitoring. A BLS ambulance includes EMT staff, oxygen, and medical equipment for patients requiring monitoring during transport. Choose stretcher van for stable bed-bound patients; choose ambulance for patients needing oxygen, IV maintenance, or vital sign monitoring.
Not always. If the patient is stable and doesn't require medical monitoring, a stretcher van is often sufficient and more cost-effective. However, if the patient needs oxygen, IV maintenance, or has cardiac concerns, a BLS ambulance is recommended. Our team can help determine the right option.
Rides booked on this website are private pay by card. We can't confirm Medicare or plan coverage online, and coverage is never guaranteed. Call us before booking if you have a billing question. The right vehicle should be chosen with the patient's care team.
Yes, but only in our BLS Ambulance. Our ambulance is equipped with medical oxygen and EMT staff trained in oxygen administration and monitoring. Wheelchair vans and stretcher vans cannot transport patients actively using oxygen during the ride.
All our vehicles carry communication equipment and our staff is trained in emergency response. In a BLS ambulance, EMT staff can provide immediate basic life support. For wheelchair or stretcher transport, staff will pull over safely and call 911 if needed while providing basic first aid.
Generally, wheelchair van is most affordable for patients who can sit. Stretcher van is mid-range for bed-bound but stable patients. BLS ambulance costs more but is necessary for patients needing medical equipment. Use our Trip Calculator to get exact pricing for your route.
