Heart2Heart
Ambulatory & Outpatient Procedure Transportation
A planned ride to your appointment, and a planned ride home when the facility says you are ready
Insurance and private pay. Heart2Heart bills insurance for medically necessary transports such as dialysis, wound care and emergency-department related trips — coverage depends on the plan and is not guaranteed, and we can’t confirm accepted plans or authorization rules online. Rides booked and paid for directly on this website are paid by card at booking. We are not a Georgia Medicaid NEMT provider. If you have Medicaid transportation benefits, Georgia’s broker Verida arranges those rides at no cost to you — call 404-209-4000 (Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett) or 678-510-4555 (North Georgia), at least 3 business days ahead. Heart to Heart does not bill the VA or accept VA benefits as payment. Veterans may book and pay privately. For transportation arranged or paid for by the VA, contact your VA facility’s Beneficiary Travel office before booking.
Plan Your Doctor, Specialist or Procedure Ride
Plan transportation to doctor and specialist appointments, testing or outpatient procedures in Decatur and select areas of Atlanta. Discuss a one-way ride or both legs of a round trip with dispatch. For procedures using sedation, follow the facility’s escort rules and arrange a return when discharge-ready; pickup timing and availability must be confirmed.
What's Included
Booked Drop-Off, Will-Call Return
Share your check-in time and discuss the return with dispatch. When the facility confirms you are discharge-ready, call to coordinate the pickup; a will-call return does not guarantee an immediate vehicle.
The Right Mobility Mode
Ambulatory, wheelchair or stretcher — chosen from how you actually move on the day, not from the procedure name. We confirm this when you book.
Discharge Rules Come From Your Facility
Every centre sets its own escort and release rules after sedation. We follow them. A driver is not automatically the responsible adult a facility may require.
One Number for the Day
Call dispatch at (678) 696-1583 for the return. If the procedure runs long, discuss a revised pickup time; changes depend on dispatch confirmation.
Appointments and Procedures We Drive
What Makes the Day Easier
- The return is planned before you go in, not scrambled afterwards
- Wheelchair and stretcher options if standing or walking is difficult
- Crews arrive at the entrance the facility tells us to use
- Waiting time is arranged in advance — unlimited waiting is not included by default
- Quoted from our published rates by distance and vehicle, with no procedure charges of any kind
Do you offer rides to doctor appointments near me?
We schedule rides to doctor appointments in Decatur and select areas of Atlanta — contact dispatch to confirm service at your pickup and destination. Longer trips can still be quoted — the calculator adds any coverage-zone fee before you pay. Every pickup is scheduled and confirmed by dispatch. This is not emergency service; for an emergency, call 911.

Riding on a regular schedule? Consider a membership
For recurring doctor or specialist rides, compare current vehicle-specific plans, allowances and terms. Each plan sets the vehicle, the number of one-way rides included each month, and the miles included on each leg. Extra miles, waiting beyond the included grace period, and rides past the monthly allowance are billed separately. A one-time $99 activation fee applies when you enroll. Memberships are private pay; they are not insurance and do not reserve a vehicle for a specific pickup time.

Riding to appointments every month? There is a plan for that
Ambulatory Essential covers 4 one-way ambulatory rides a month — 2 round trips — for people who walk or transfer with minimal help.
Ambulatory Essential
4 one-way rides a month (2 round trips) for appointments and outpatient procedures — 10 miles included on each one-way leg.
$399/mo
- Ambulatory means the rider can walk or transfer with minimal help and does not need wheelchair securement, a stretcher or BLS medical monitoring. If any of those are needed, the correct wheelchair, stretcher or BLS service must be booked instead.
- 4 included one-way ambulatory rides each month (2 round trips). A procedure-day round trip uses 2 of them — there and back are separate rides.
- 10 miles are included on EACH one-way ride, measured per leg. Rides do not roll over month to month.
- The standard pattern is drop-off plus a will-call return: we take you in, and we come back when the facility says you are ready to leave. Discharge timing is set by the facility, not by us.
- Escort rules come from the treating facility. Many facilities require a specific responsible adult after sedation. A driver or crew member is not automatically that adult, and this membership does not satisfy that requirement.
- The appointment itself is not waiting time: while the vehicle is away you are not charged for waiting.
- Reserved on-site waiting, where the vehicle and crew stay with you, is $70 per hour with a one-hour minimum and must be arranged in advance.
- Unplanned waiting on scene follows the shared policy: free for the first 15 minutes, then $17.50 per started 15 minutes, only from validated crew timestamps, and never billed twice for the same minutes.
- Still billed separately under the shared policies: miles past 10 on a leg at $4 per mile, coverage-zone charges, extra rides beyond the included 4, tolls, parking, stairs or extra assistance, and cancellations.
- The separate coverage-zone fee still applies beyond 10 miles—even within a larger plan mileage allowance: $50 beyond 10 through 20 miles, $100 beyond 20 through 30 miles, then $50 per additional 10 miles. It can apply even when those miles are inside your plan's mileage allowance.
- A delay caused by Heart to Heart or its assigned provider is never billed to you.
- Higher medical needs require the correct service level — wheelchair, stretcher or BLS ambulance — which this plan does not cover.
