    Heart2Heart

    Non-Emergency BLS Ambulance Transport

Scheduled Basic Life Support transport staffed by EMTs. Same-day requests depend on dispatch confirmation. For a medical emergency call 911.

    Having an emergency? Call 911.

Heart2Heart is not a 911 response agency. For chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, difficulty breathing or an unresponsive patient, call 911 — they can dispatch paramedic-level care that we do not provide. For non-emergency transport, contact dispatch to review the appropriate vehicle and availability; a same-day request is not a guaranteed pickup.

    Confirm Your Non-Emergency Ride

Serving Decatur and select areas of Atlanta. Call dispatch to confirm the pickup, destination and timing. A stretcher van is for stable patients who need to lie down without BLS care; it is not an ambulance.

    Non-Emergency BLS Transport FAQ

Yes. Request a one-way ride or both legs of a round trip. Tell dispatch the appointment check-in time, pickup and destination, mobility needs, and whether a return is needed. Each leg and pickup time must be confirmed; a request is not a confirmed booking.
Discuss a scheduled or will-call return with dispatch before the appointment. When the patient is ready, call (678) 696-1583 to coordinate pickup. A will-call return does not mean a vehicle is waiting outside or guarantee immediate pickup. Waiting and any changes are subject to the quoted terms and dispatch confirmation.
Ask dispatch about recurring doctor, specialist, therapy or dialysis appointment rides. Confirm each pickup and destination, dates, vehicle needs and return arrangements. Vehicle-specific memberships have published one-way ride allowances and mileage limits; a round trip uses two rides. Membership does not guarantee a particular pickup time or vehicle availability.
Private pay is accepted. Wheelchair and stretcher van rides and routine doctor or specialist appointment rides are private pay. Insurance billing is limited to ambulance dialysis with BCBS, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare and Aetna, subject to eligibility and verification; coverage and payment are not guaranteed. Heart2Heart does not bill the VA or accept VA benefits.
Serving Decatur and select areas of Atlanta. Contact dispatch at (678) 696-1583 to confirm service at your pickup and destination. Heart2Heart operates 24 hours, but availability, the appropriate vehicle and pickup timing require dispatch confirmation. This is non-emergency transportation; for a medical emergency call 911.
No. Heart2Heart is not a 911 response agency. If someone is having a life-threatening emergency — chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, trouble breathing, unresponsiveness — call 911 immediately. We provide scheduled non-emergency BLS transport; same-day requests require dispatch confirmation.
No. Our crews are certified EMTs, which makes every Heart2Heart unit a BLS (Basic Life Support) unit. We do not provide ALS, critical care transport (CCT), cardiac drips, IV medication administration, advanced airway management, or ventilator transport. If your patient needs any of those, book an ALS or CCT provider — we would rather tell you no than send the wrong crew.
Our EMTs monitor vital signs, administer oxygen, manage a basic airway, use an AED, control bleeding, position and secure the patient safely, and transport patients who already have equipment in place and managed by the sending facility. They coordinate handoff with receiving staff on arrival.
Same-day and short-notice BLS transport is available by request — call dispatch to confirm subject to unit availability. Call (678) 696-1583 and dispatch will tell you an honest arrival window before you commit — we do not quote a response time we cannot hold.
Serving Decatur and select areas of Atlanta, with existing service-area information for Tucker, Stone Mountain, Clarkston, Avondale Estates and Scottdale. Contact dispatch to confirm service at your pickup and destination.

For recurring non-emergency BLS rides, compare the current vehicle-specific plans before requesting transport. Each plan sets the vehicle, the number of one-way rides included each month, and the miles included on each leg. Extra miles, waiting beyond the included grace period, and rides past the monthly allowance are billed separately. A one-time $99 activation fee applies when you enroll. Memberships are private pay; they are not insurance and do not reserve a vehicle for a specific pickup time.
