Insurance and private pay. Heart2Heart bills insurance for medically necessary transports such as dialysis, wound care and emergency-department related trips — coverage depends on the plan and is not guaranteed, and we can’t confirm accepted plans or authorization rules online. Rides booked and paid for directly on this website are paid by card at booking. We are not a Georgia Medicaid NEMT provider. If you have Medicaid transportation benefits, Georgia’s broker Verida arranges those rides at no cost to you — call 404-209-4000 (Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett) or 678-510-4555 (North Georgia), at least 3 business days ahead. Heart to Heart does not bill the VA or accept VA benefits as payment. Veterans may book and pay privately. For transportation arranged or paid for by the VA, contact your VA facility’s Beneficiary Travel office before booking.
Dialysis centers we serve in Riverdale
Addresses and station counts below come from the federal dialysis facility register.

275 Upper Riverdale Rd SW Ste B, Riverdale 30274 · 20 stations
Everything on one road — and the 31-station unit
Fresenius Kidney Care Clayton County at 181 Upper Riverdale Rd runs 31 stations, making it one of the largest registered dialysis units in the south metro. DaVita Southern Crescent, a few doors up at 275 Upper Riverdale Rd SW, adds 20 more. Southern Regional Medical Center sits on the same corridor.
A large unit is good news for chair availability and bad news for the parking lot at shift change. We plan Upper Riverdale pickups around turnover times, and we tell crews to collect the patient from inside the lobby rather than circling.
Post-treatment rides are the core of the work here
Fifty-one dialysis stations on one road produce a constant stream of patients finishing treatment weak, hypotensive and in no state to drive or wait outside for a rideshare. That is the single largest category of Riverdale booking we take, and it is why the return leg matters more than the outbound one.
You can book it two ways: a round trip where we leave and return when the clinic calls, or a wait-and-return where the vehicle and crew stay on site for the whole session at our published hourly wait rate. The second costs more and removes all the uncertainty.
Highway 85 and the practical route in
We reach Riverdale on I-285 to Highway 85, or straight down through Forest Park depending on the hour. Highway 85 backs up around the Highway 138 junction and near the hospital at appointment o’clock, which is exactly when everyone needs to be there.
Residential pickups in the Church Street and Valley Hill areas are conventional suburban addresses with short driveways; the apartment complexes along Highway 85 need a building and unit number so the crew is not hunting. Give us both and the pickup is quick.
Southern Regional discharges and cross-metro transfers
Discharge rides from Southern Regional back into Riverdale, Jonesboro and Forest Park are routine, as are transfers from Southern Regional up to Grady or the Emory campuses when a patient needs a level of care that is elsewhere. Longer trips price on the same base-plus-mileage formula rather than a separate rate sheet.
We are an independent transportation company and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or contracted to Southern Regional or any hospital named here. All service is private pay, quoted up front.
