    How booking works

    1. Enter pickup, destination, date and vehicle in the trip calculator to see the itemized price.
    2. For round trips, choose a set return time or "call when ready" so we can plan the return leg.
    3. Pay by card to request the ride. Your request is confirmed once dispatch assigns a crew.
    4. The crew helps the rider from the door, secures them in the vehicle and brings them inside at the destination.

Booking 3+ days ahead can lower the fare; booking 7+ days ahead lowers it further. Availability is never guaranteed until dispatch confirms.

    Non-emergency medical transportation questions

Open the trip calculator, enter pickup, destination, date and vehicle, review the itemized price, then pay by card to send the request. Dispatch confirms the ride once a crew is assigned. You can also call us to book by phone.
A round trip doubles the base fare and mileage; other fees apply once. Example: a wheelchair van ride of 5 miles each way is $228 per leg, or $456 for the round trip before any zone, distance-from-base, stairs, waiting, after-hours or advance-booking adjustments. The calculator shows your exact total.
Not by default. Reserved wait time (wait-and-return) is $70 per hour, one hour minimum, with part hours rounded up. It is reserved and priced before the trip. Unplanned wait time is free for the first 15 minutes on scene, then $17.50 per started 15 minutes. If the vehicle leaves during the appointment and comes back, that time is not charged as waiting.
A family member or caregiver can fill out the request for the rider — enter the rider's details and a phone number someone will answer on the day of the trip. Rides booked on this website are paid by card at booking; if someone other than the rider will pay, or you need a different arrangement, call us to confirm before booking.
NEMT is a scheduled ride to or from medical care for someone who is stable but cannot safely travel by car, taxi or rideshare. It is not a replacement for 911 — call 911 for any emergency.
Heart2Heart accepts private pay for every service. Heart2Heart also bills Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare and Aetna for BLS ambulance transport to and from dialysis. Whether a claim is paid depends on the patient's own plan, medical necessity and any authorization the plan requires — coverage is not guaranteed, so call dispatch before booking to check. Wheelchair vans, stretcher vans and all non-dialysis trips are private pay, paid by card at booking. Heart2Heart does not bill Medicaid or the VA and does not accept VA benefits. Heart2Heart is not 911 emergency response and does not provide advanced life support. We do not bill Medicaid or the VA.
Each vehicle has a base fare plus a per-mile rate, with a $100 minimum. Longer trips add a coverage-zone fee, and extras like stairs, waiting time or after-hours pickups are itemized. The trip calculator shows the full breakdown before you pay.
Choose by how the rider travels: seated in a wheelchair, lying flat, or needing EMT care on the way. If you're unsure, use the vehicle comparison or call us and we will help you pick.
At least 30% of the amount paid is non-refundable. Cancelling on the day of pickup raises that to 50%, and once a crew is on the way up to 70% is kept.
